Rescue Me ID: 16-04-23-00415Tipsy (female)

Snowshoe Mix    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Male Cats Only, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Good with older children. Tried to place with a child around 3 and the child liked to yell in her face and Tipsy would hiss and growl at her. She was with a male cat and they got along before we got her from my daughter, but not with a female when we tried to place her in another home. Tries to get on our counters will need training, we have snakes and are worried she will try to get to them. She loves playing with the balls that jingle. I was told she is purebred but not sure so I marked mix for breed.

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-08-00312Mr. McFluffers (male)

Snowshoe Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, FIV

Mr. McFluffers is a very handsome longhaired Snowshoe with blue eyes. He's about 5 years old. He is a very sweet, affectionate cat, in spite of all he's endured during his time on the streets. His left rear foot was broken some time ago, so he can't jump up on things and limps a little. It probably won't require fixing, being such an old injury. He has adapted very well to his handicap. Even though he is a longhair, he is very fastidious and requires very little brushing, although he does enjoy brief brushing daily after he bathes himself following breakfast. We believe he would be best in a home as the only cat, as he seems to prefer human ... (Read More)companionship without competition. He is not a fan of dogs, we assume this is likely due to his time on the streets just trying to survive. We do not recommend a home with children, as he can be very emotional at times - but treated with patience and a calm demeanor, he will reward his new family with soft meows and affectionate headbonks. He has a purring motor that won't stop, as well. He has tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV can live for many years. Many cats that test positive have conquered the virus, like people that test positive for TB. Others were exposed but never got it. It is transmitted through deep bites, so unneutered males living on the streets are the most prone. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00335Loki (male)

Snowshoe Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Loki is a 1 year old male Snowshoe. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Loki has special needs - he is 90% blind (developmental) and has a history of asthma that he takes a daily medication for. He has had a few small episodes since entering foster care, but they're not too bad. He needs a very quiet and relaxed home, with NO loud or hyper dogs/cats/kids. He is okay with the lazy cat in his foster home. She doesn't bother him & she makes no noise. He dislikes all dogs and the talkative/playful foster cat. His foster mom says, 'As long as I approach his crate area very slowly & I whisper or don't talk in his presence at all, he ... (Read More)is just fine. If I walk too fast or talk too loud, he gets very stressed and immediately growls, hisses and attacks my feet. He comes out for attention on his own terms! It has taken him 5 days to even let me get close enough to pet him without biting me, so he will need a very patient and understanding owner. But, we are making progress together, even if it is slow! Once he is settled in his new surroundings, he will come out to explore and approach his human for head rubs. He doesn't like being handled too much, only head/back petting.' (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-04-11-00566Sky (female)

Snowshoe Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sky is a Lynx Point Snowshoe. She was surrendered because one of her humans was severely allergic to her. Sky is 2 1/2 years old, very sweet, rather shy at first but came out the second day to get petting and love from her foster mom. She was well cared for. She likes to 'hunt' small items around the house, and 'hide' them in her food bowl! Her markings are beautiful and her personality fits the breed. She is slowly learning to accept and get along with the other cat in her foster home, who is very laid back. Sky will probably be scared of dogs and children, though. She needs a very quiet home. She seems to really like men.
